The government raises the fee for Danish language lessons. A host family must pay a lump sum of 17.300 DKK instead of 5.380 DKK which is the current cost to get a residence permit for an au pair.
The bill, which the Danish People's Party stands behind, was adopted with votes from the Enhedslisten, the Social Democrats and SF on February 28, 2019 (see https://www.dr.dk/nyheder/regionale/hovedstadsomraadet/dyrere-au-pair-ordning-vedtaget-borgmester-begraeder)
The Act is most likely to come into force on 1 July 2019. So far, we have received the following information from the Immigration: if an au pair submits the application before 1 July, the application will be treated with the current rates (5,380 DKK).
If an au pair wants to change the host family, the new family should not pay for her Danish language course.
