Dear Host Family,
I am already very excited about getting to know you. But, first of all, I would like to introduce myself to you.
My name is Nikita . I am 26 years old and from the city of Durban in South Africa. With my parents, Rajiv (55) and Nishana (50), and my Sister, Nerita (24), I am living in a house that is located in the suburbs of Chatsworth. We have got a dog (Yorkshire Terrier), who loves to cuddle all day. My father works as a Salesman at a Massive car dealership, my mother is a stay-at-home mom since I was at the age of 14.
I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, who tries to make the best out of every situation. I like spending time with my friends; they are – as well as my family – very important to me. Always try to help, I’m always there for them if they need me. My friends bring out the best version of me, and we really enjoy just engaging and spending time with our families together.
In my free time, I like to listen to music, go shopping, or dance. Dancing is one of my favorite hobbies. Furthermore, I enjoy reading a good book and singing – even though I cannot sing, I try. I do enjoy swimming as well, and I try to go every alternate day whilst it's summer here in South Africa.
I am looking forward to this program which will allow me to travel whilst I work and experience new cultures as this is one of my greatest dreams and aspiration.
Two Years ago, I resigned from my full-time job, where I was an administrative clerk for a Massive Transport and Construction company in South Africa. I worked alongside the directors, managing their construction site in Dubai and also maintaining current and upcoming projects in Africa.
For the past ten years, I took care of children of all ages from different families. I became very close to them and I cherish the time I have spent with them. Two of my cousins are fairly young and they’ve lived with us for many years. Through this time, I have found out how much fun it is to have children around, I can’t imagine a life without them. I have a soft spot for one of my cousins in particular, he is 5 years old. I am his best friend and he chooses to spend the majority of his free time with me.
The reason why I want to become an Au Pair is that I want to work with children of different cultures whilst traveling the world. Most importantly, it would be a great chance to spend an entire year taking care of children. I really enjoy cooking and I can make different types of Indian cuisine, pasta, roasts, baking, etc. I love learning new recipes as well and would love to learn some of your country's traditional dishes.
I have a lot of experience regarding household tasks too, I like cleaning and organizing different rooms in the house. I am always busy re-organizing and spring cleaning my parents' house and I enjoy finding order in things and places. I love animals almost as much as I love children and I enjoy looking after them and helping out with pets too.
I hope we can develop a good relationship, working and living together as a family. I would be very happy to experience an eventful year with you and your kids. I am looking forward to talking to you.
