It's so exciting to be able to write to you and to give you a better idea of who I am and what I’m like as a person. My name is Sabrina and I am 25 years old. I live in a small suburb of Cape Town, South Africa. I also lived in New Jersey, USA for 3 years and Bussum, Netherlands for 1 year as an au pair.
Over the past 5 years I have taken care of multiple children. I worked as a daycare assistant for a while in 2019 and took care of children aged 3 months to 2 years. I then left to the USA where I looked after a little girl named Olivia. I was with her from the age of 2 to 5, from 2019 to 2022. She was the most amazing, kind and fun little girl. In the summer, we loved to go to the park together, go swimming at our local pool, have picnics and have playdates with Olivias friends. In the winter, we played outside in the snow, read books, had dance parties, drank hot chocolate, watched Frozen (many, many times) and did lots of arts and crafts. When I returned to Cape Town I looked after a little girl named Aya who was 18 months. She was a happy and energetic baby. We loved to play outside on the trampoline, color with chalk, play with blocks and toys and read books. When I au paired in The Netherlands, I took care of 2 girls, Pien (6) and Teuntje (9). The were both extremely funny and energetic girls, both with kind hearts. I would take them to and from sports and activities, assist with playdates and take them out on little outings when the weather was nice.
My goal for the future is to study Interior design. It has been a passion of mine for a very long time. I would also love to create and sell my own art. Art has been my passion my whole life. I’ve always loved drawing and painting as a child. I would also love to live in Japan as an English teacher in the future.
Some of my other hobbies/interests include cooking, baking, listening to music, going to art museums, trying new foods, photography, reading, playing board/card games and watching movies. I love horror movies! Another goal for my future would be to travel to as many countries as I can and make friends all over the world.
Traveling to Scandinavia and being able to live with a family would be an amazing way for me to explore Europe and immerse myself in the culture. I would love to discover how different the families and people are there and the different and interesting things they do.
My time in America and Netherlands as an au pair were the best years of my life so far, and I would love to create memories with a new host family. I love to watch kids grow and assist with their development. They can teach you so much, such as valuing even the smallest things in life. I hope to create an amazing bond with my future host parents and host kids, make lots of friends, learn more about others and about myself, learn new cultures, travel and have fun!
