My name is Caterina, I am 20 years old and I live in a little village in the north of Italy
In my family we are four: my mum, my dad, my younger brother who is 18, and me. I also have three younger cousins (aged 10, 13 and 15) whom I often babysit, so I have always been surrounded by children. My family is very supportive of my application to become an au pair.
I have several experiences working with children of different ages. For a few summers I worked as an animator in a summer centre, where I looked after children ranging from 6 to 14 years old. For the last three summers I have been babysitting a little boy named Martino: I started when he was one year old, then two, and this summer he was three. We played together, coloured, went to the playground or for walks in the village, and did many fun activities. Thanks to these experiences I am confident in taking care of children of different ages, and I truly enjoy spending time with them.
I would like to become an au pair because I love working with children, but also because this experience would allow me to grow as a person. Living with a family in a different country is a fantastic opportunity to discover new cultures, meet new people with different customs, and adapt to new situations. Above all, I would like to improve my English: my current level is B2 (I studied English in elementary, middle and high school), but my goal is to reach an advanced level. While being an au pair, I would like to attend English classes, compatible with my work schedule, in order to obtain a language certificate that will allow me to study at university in English.
In my free time I like swimming, doing pilates, taking photos, walking, and spending time with friends. In winter I enjoy skiing, as my family has a house in the mountains. During high school I also had the opportunity to travel abroad, for example to Prague and Ireland near Dublin, where I stayed with a host family for a week.
After my au pair experience, I would like to enter university to study economics and marketing in English. For this reason, improving my English while living with your family would be the perfect opportunity for me.
