I'm Renz from the Philippines. I am currently taking up my master’s degree in psychology through distance learning. My hobbies include watching foreign language shows and films, drawing/painting, traveling, hiking, and camping. I am really interested in the arts, culture, cooking, and psychology. I chose psychology as a post-graduate pursuit because I dream of becoming a therapist in the next five years, specializing in childhood development.
I am a quick learner and need minimal supervision. I respect culture very much and would be very open to learning the parenting and child-rearing style of your specific family. I will do my best to make your family's life easier and help your family stay healthy and happy. As an au pair, I can also share my culture with you, especially through food. I am an excellent cook and can prepare anything from a quick, simple meal to an elaborate Christmas dinner.
In terms of taking care of kids, I have been a frequent babysitter to my nephew since he was a newborn. He is now six years old. Therefore, I am experienced in bathing, feeding, waking and getting ready, and putting to bed babies, toddlers, and young children. As for older kids, I have experienced taking care of some of my cousins between the ages of 6-9 and can tutor them and occupy them with games and organize trips and activities. I have earned a certificate for teaching English as a foreign language as well which I think will be helpful in tutoring young children.
Traveling is one of my favorite things to do. I have been to over 16 countries in Asia, Europe, and North Africa. My favorite countries are Morocco and Japan. I think being an au pair and living with a host family is the best way to get to know a country and its culture. Filipinos are known to be very family-oriented and dedicated and I can say that if you choose me as your au pair, I will do my best to blend well into the family and make sure that my stay with you will be meaningful, fun, and filled with good memories.
